Material Handling
Plastic Film Feeder Chain has been used on all types of thermoforming conveyor equipment for more than two decades. As the demand for thermoformed products increased, so did wear to the chains used on the conveyor equipment. Companies were using standard types of feeder chain outside the parameters for which they were designed. As a result, problems like uneven wear, unusual chain elongation and lack of life plagued conveyor systems everywhere. Diamond set out to develop a chain which would address the problems of higher speeds, uneven wear and heat.

Through a program developed in 1986, Diamond designed a new line of Plastic Film Feeder Chain. This chain is designed for thermoforming applications and unusual conveying applications such as creating polystyrene plates, shrink wrap, blister packs and many other plastic items.

Chain DrawingThe chain features precise, pointed link plates combined with extended pins or straight attachments (for additional rigidity in operation) which make them ideal for conveying plastic film into thermoforming operations. By packaging chain in matched sets and improving the lubricant to address the heat problem, Diamond is now able to offer longer wear life of the components. These are three examples of models currently in use.

Diamond's approach to this tough application and others is to get to know the customers needs and expectations. With this in mind, Diamond's representatives can recommend a chain to meet the customer's needs. For more information on Diamond's Plastic Film Feeder Chain, call 1-800-US-CHAIN today.
